Game three of a four game series in Louisville at the time of this writing, and a chance to catch our collective breath. The Braves are in the midst of 16 of 20 games on the road, a stretch that might cause even the ’27 Yankees to buckle just a bit. For whatever reason though, this 2007 edition of the Richmond Braves is up to the task of playing away from home.
Speaking of home, while much has been made of the R-Braves 18-18 record at home, a glance around the IL shows that nine of the 14 teams in the league have an above .500 record in friendly surroundings. A closer look at that shows only four of those teams are six games above .500 or better at home, with the rest of the clubs hovering around that .500 mark.
Wednesday night in Louisville after the day game was a chance to enjoy some of the surroundings of the downtown area. A nice dinner with some casual downtime for the team and supporting staff, an opportunity to do whatever one felt like doing. Now it’s time to get back to the business of being road warriors for the rest of the trip.
